Somewhere in CDMX...

Mexico City is, without a doubt, one of the most important cultural hubs in Latin America and the world. With over 1,800 neighborhoods and districts, CDMX is a rich tapestry of historical processes that have culminated in unique styles and ways of life. Its streets, avenues, plazas, parks, buildings, houses, and markets have witnessed the ebb and flow of diverse communities in search of place and identity.

Let us never forget that every structure in this metropolis is built upon what was once one of the most magnificent empires in human history. This deep historical, social, and cultural foundation gives CDMX a vibrancy unlike any other major city in the world. Located on Tiziano 46, a street in one of the city’s most iconic neighborhoods, is Pop Gallery’s hub. Mixcoac, the neighborhood we call home, is a living reminder of the city’s history, showcased through beautiful buildings from various periods—from pre-Columbian settlements, colonial and viceregal structures, rural estates, and Porfirian mansions, to architecture with Arabic influences and, of course, functionalist buildings from the latter half of the 20th century.

Historically, Mixcoac was a well-connected settlement, crisscrossed by canals and rivers that facilitated trade and transport for various functions and activities. Today, this spirit of connection remains alive through major avenues like Revolución, Patriotismo, and Periférico, as well as an efficient transportation system, including the metro and trolleybus. This connectivity places Pop Gallery at the heart of a thriving cultural network that intersects with neighborhoods like San Pedro de los Pinos, Escandón, San Miguel Chapultepec, and Condesa.

Mixcoac serves as an urban archive, a collection of neighborhoods that tell a vital part of our city’s cultural grandeur. As new communities from different parts of Mexico and the world continue to arrive, Mixcoac will keep evolving, enriching the vibrant cultural mosaic of Mexico City.
